FOLLOWING the end of the 2020-2021 season, the Motu Koita West Netball Association has noted a strong finish to its competition despite the ongoing impact of Covid-19 in the nation’s capital.
Association president Kori Toua-Navuru said the successful completion of the finals was a bonus for Motu-Koita West and the sport.
“It’s like a blessing for us during the Covid-19 pandemic, while there are no other games and activities at this time, we are enjoying netball,” she said.
“It has been a very hectic season, very challenging.
“We had a few complaints, a few judiciary matters to address, but otherwise it has been good.
“This season will also be a last for me and my executives.
“We have an annual general meeting in October and that’s when we’ll be having fresh elections.
“I’d like to thank my executives who have been the strength and the backbone for me and this competition.
“I couldn’t have done much without their support.”
Toua-Navuru said a major highlight for this season was the inclusion of the men’s division into the competition as it received positive feedback from teams and followers in the village.
“Last year, we introduced the mixed division and it lifted the standard of the competition,” she said.
