ATS roundabout barriers lifted

Letters

I ACKNOWLEDGE the action taken by the authorities to reopen the ATS roundabout, in Port Moresby, yesterday (July 4).
Their action speaks not only of a functional administrative and governance system that exists today in PNG but of an administration that is responsive to the voices of the people.
This episode exemplifies the rationality that the governing system and its administrative arm is on par with the rest of the modern world because when a small drum sounds out in the middle of nowhere at ATS those at Waigani react actively in a participatory manner, giving recognition to the fact that our government is vibrant and active in community issues at the community level.
This is the crux of public policy administration as public policy encompasses the policy-making endeavour of legislatures and administrators to policies on the general welfare of all concerned, instead of just a few.
Thank you again to those concerned for taking the proper action and reopening this very important attaching infrastructure.
