THE Institute of Internal Auditors PNG (IIAPNG) has launched a new website.

In their 10th year since formation, the institute’s 400-plus members will now have easier access to information on local events and global advancement of the auditing profession.

Since inception in 1999, the IIA came under the Australian IIA until a PNG chapter was approved by the global headquarters in 2004.

IIAPNG president Daisy Bautista says the institute is proud to become part of the globalisation process of internal auditing through their website.

“We are now visible to everyone everywhere and this can be another step toward the advancement of our profession in PNG,” she said.

IIA executive officer Joseph Abaka said globally the auditing profession changed daily and members would be able to log into the website to access valuable information passed on from their global headquarters or other countries such as Australia.

“Before, we sent out emails to all our members with the latest updates and now it’s much easier for them to enter their membership numbers on our website and get the info themselves,” he said.

An official launch will be held during the IIA annual conference in August.
