Aussies pay to give Sepik Highway a K20mil makeover

NATIONAL Planning and Implementation Minister Richard Maru says Ausaid has funded K20 milion upgrade of the Sepik Highway from Wewak to Maprik.
“The 109km highway will be resealed and the drainage will be cleaned out to ensure that quality work is done on the highway that has been neglected for a very long time,” he said.
“The upgrading of this highway is needed as there will be major impact agro-industrial projects along it that also links Nuku and Lumi in West Sepik.”
He thanked Australia for the funding.
“It is a very economical road for East and West Sepik.”
