Australians helping our officers be better detectives

SEVENTEEN police officers are attending a detective training programme at the Bomana Police College, says Deputy Police Commissioner Operations Jim Andrews.
The participants comprised four women and 13 men from the National Capital District and Central command.
“There has not been such a training conducted for the past 15 years,” Andrews said. The course covers basic and advanced criminal investigation detection.
The trainers are Australian retired detective sergeants Andy Thorp and Geoff Cotterill who worked with the Australian Federal Police for more than 30 years.
The first course began last Monday and will end on March 29. The second will start after Easter and ends on May 18.
