Avoid falling into trap of evil, says pastor

THE Christmas and New Year message for Christians is to avoid falling into the trap of evil, Kudjip Nazarene Emmanuel Church pastor Rev Philip Noliye says.
Noliye said this was the same evil that took over King Herod when he tried to kill the newly-born baby Jesus.
Noliye said Herod continued to be alive today through the forces of evil.
“On Christmas, Christ the King was born in your life,” he said.
“Herod was angry and was looking for means and ways to kill baby Jesus.
“He did not want Jesus to be king in your life.
“He was a greedy king and did not want anyone to replace him as king.
“In the spiritual realm, this spirit of Herod still exists today.
“It is ready to attack the newborn king.
“You’ve got to protect that king and run away from that evil king.”
When Jesus was born, three wise men from the east followed stars and brought with them gifts to present to baby Jesus who was born in Bethlehem.
When they arrived at Jerusalem, they asked King Herod where was the king baby born.
Herod and those at Jerusalem were surprised.
Herod wanted to find out and sent the wise men ahead to search for the baby.
In a dream, angels told the wise men not to return to Herod, but take a different route back to their country.
Angels also appeared to Joseph and told him to take the baby and his mother, Mary, and escape to Egypt to avoid Herod.
“In the New Year, you’ve got to protect baby Jesus that was born in you,” Noliye said.
“You must escape from Herod.
“Do not give in to old habits of gossip, drinking, stealing, adultery, fighting, lying and other evil things.
“Stay away from sin.
“Always pray and read the Bible to see God’s blessings and favour in your lives.”
