A PRIMARY school in Port Moresby received five refresher computers from Westpac through its ongoing commitment and support to community and sustainability last Friday.

The refreshers have been upgraded with office applications including MS word, MS excel, MS Power point, MS publisher, Internet access.

Westpac PNG managing director, Geoff Toone told those gathered that the donation was a win for the school and would assist all teachers and students in their work.

“Westpac is not only in the banking business but we are in the business of supporting the communities that do so much to support us,” Toone said.

“If this small gift can make a difference in the lives of these children, then that’s terrific news.”

School administrator Capt Mark Kos said this was not the first time, Westpac has been supporting the school but for the past few years.

“I am thrilled because the will be able to increase hundreds of students’ access to computers and the internet throughout this school,” Kos said.

Students’ representative, James Amini, 13, said the computers would help every student to be computer literate at an early age in the school.
