THE Barramundis’ preparations for the division two one-day international league series in Scotland next month is taking shape, says coach Joe Dawes.
Speaking on Monday at the opening of the second week of matches for the Curtain Brothers T20 Smash tournament, Dawes said the squad had been selected from the tournament.
“The squad has been picked,’ Dawes said.
“We’ll be announcing that in the next couple of days and I’m really excited about the players we’ve picked.”
He said the tournament was crucial to their preparations as the tournament heads into its finals stage this week.
“It was a great tournament last year and we’re looking to build on that this year as part of our preparation for Scotland,” Dawes said.
“We’re seeing our batsmen getting some time in the middle and the bowlers are doing a pretty good job as well.
“Heading into the second week, it’s still pretty tight with regard to who is going to make the finals of the tournament.”
Meanwhile, week two began with the Hastings Deering Black Bass winning two of their matches on Monday against the Mudmen and Cassowaries.
Round five of the tournament starts today with the Mudmen taking on the Cassowaries and Mariners in the morning and afternoon matches at Amini Park in Port Moresby.
