Be responsible for children’s learning

Letters

THE nation should invest more of its resources and finances on things that will help the development of the future minds of this nation.
This should be our priority in every decision we make.
We have to be responsible for our future. .
We should question ourselves on how we can contribute to the growth and development of this nation in every action we take.
We should stop pointing fingers at one another and be responsible for our actions.
Challenges are not so huge if we address them together.
Our children are our greatest resources.
They’re quick to learn but they need good teachers to better shape their minds.
Learning about reading and writing takes place in different ways.
Learning does not only happen in the classroom, even though we acknowledge that most of it does.
But early learning takes place in homes. Parents are the first teachers.
The foundation of children’s learning and discipline starts with the parents’ teaching and the environment.
Environment, in this sense, covers church, associations, school, peers and family members. The type of environment a child is exposed to contributes greatly to his/her ability to learn.
An environment that speaks love, care and respect helps children learn better.
Ethics and Christian values are good for children as well.
Children who are disciplined turn out to be more responsible and respectful.
These children become role models to others in their communities. When in front of children, we should choose our words and actions wisely.
Children are great learners who tend to imitate what they see and hear.
