THE multi-million kina PNG Biomass project in the Markham Valley, Morobe, is seen by locals as a positive life-changing activity that sustains their livelihoods financially and socially.
Landowners’ representative David Adzab said the project is making a huge impact in the lives of the people and that needs support from the district level and are now calling on the Markham District Authority to part-take meaningfully in the project.
They have also called on the National Government to fast-track the implementation of a power plant to be installed by PNG Biomass at Zifasing in Wampar local level government of Huon Gulf, Morobe, saying PNG Biomass has met all the necessary requirements since 2011 but has been delayed as Government did not give its blessing for them to construct the power plant.
