BMOBILE technicians have addressed congestion issues experienced on its network last week.
A spokesperson told The National that they had identified congestion issues that were experienced on the network and their technicians had worked diligently to address them.
“This has been done and addressed,” the spokesman said.
“We further anticipate that with the Kumul Domestic Submarine Cable coming back online in the coming month, our customers’ online experience will be better than ever before.”
The spokesperson said feedback they had been getting from the public regarding their mobile data plans had been overwhelmingly positive.
Bmobile and Telikom, subsidiaries of Kumul Telikom Holdings Ltd (KTHL), had significantly reduced their internet prices by 70 to 80 per cent last month.
“We’re striving to continue to bring internet connectivity to Papua New Guineans at never before seen prices.”
Meanwhile, KTHL deputy chairman Rueben Kautu said during the announcement of internet prices reduction earlier last month that they had also expected demand to increase.
Kautu said it was something they tried to manage.
“We know that reducing the price will mean an increase in demand,” he said.
“We need to manage the demand.”
Kautu said they would be able to know customer demand following the implementation of reduction in internet pricing for its subsidiaries Telikom PNG and bmobile.
