I am still chairman, says Kende

PHILIP Kende maintains that he is still chairman of Petroleum Resources Gobe and will remain so until the people vote him out through due process.
Kende made the statement after a press conference last Wednesday announced that he was voted out by 11 members of the 21 Gobe leadership committee (GLC).
However, Kende said that it was all part of a “smoke screen” to cover up the K30 million that he alleged was fraudulently removed by Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC).
“We call on the government and the Police Minister to sack the MRDC managing director and look into the case immediately,” he said.
“We laid a complaint and presented all our findings as evidence to the Police National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate last November and we are still waiting.”
Police National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate officer in charge Matthew Damaru confirmed receiving the report.
He said they were still investigating the case.
