THE Papua New Guinea Bowls Takuru Fours Cup is once again up for grabs this weekend, thanks to the backing of Bank of PNG (BPNG) and PNG Ports Corporation Limited.
BPNG and PNG Ports presented K10,000 and K7,000 respectively to the sport’s national governing body at the PNG Defence Bowling Club at Murray Barracks in Port Moresby yesterday.
BPNG Governor Loi Bakani and PNG Ports representative Clemn Kafare presented the cheques to PNG Bowls president and PNG Defence Force (PNGDF) chief warrant officer (retired) Joe Kamane.
Bakani said BPNG was ready to support the tournament in the future.
Kafare also expressed similar sentiments and said PNG Ports would attend the tournament.
On behalf of the club, PNGDF Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Tanfa thanked BPNG and PNG Ports for supporting the tournament.
The tournament is expected to attract 24 teams with most sides from outside centres.
The opening ceremony will start at 8am tomorrow at the PNG Defence Bowling Club.
