Dragons look to claim top prize

MINOR premiers Kwikila Dragons will look to complete the double when they face Saroa Raiders in the Rigo Rugby League A-Grade grand final in Kwikila, Central, tomorrow.
Both sides are equally matched in all departments but the 80-minute battle will come down to fitness.
The champions will claim K5,000 and the Rigo District Development Authority Cup while the runners-up will pocket K2,500 with local MP Lekwa Gure supporting the league this season.
For the Under-20 grand final between Broncos and Dragons, the winners will pocket K3,000 while the runners-up will bag K1,500.
League president George Gwaibo said there was a reduction in prize monies as only K50,000 had been released from the initial commitment of K100,000.
Raiders, who eliminated defending champions Saroa Keina Broncos last week, will be counting on Mairi brothers Saka and Dagi to steer the side against the Dragons. Dragon Heniga Lapanda and Raider Chiko Mairi, both Central Dabaris players, will provide Digicel Cup experience for their teams.
Dragons’ Louie Otto and Saidi Lesley will look to give retirees Jubilee Otto and Jack Fave a fitting farewell. The matches will be controlled by Port Moresby Rugby Football League referees.
