Lae gets assistance
THE Lae Indian Association Inc has donated various level three personal protection equipment (PPE) to frontline health workers who will attend to coronavirus cases at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium intensive care unit. The donation comprises 100 sets of overalls and safety glasses, 15,000 pairs of gloves and 800 face masks.

Morobe ready
ANGAU Memorial Hospital director of medical services Dr Lincoln Menda says five health teams have been scheduled to work in rotating shifts and so Morobe is prepared to address coronavirus cases if it hits the province. “Our district health centres can cater for mild and moderate cases and refer only severe cases to Lae,” Menda said.

Farmers to get help
CENTRAL Governor Robert Agarobe says the province will be rolling out its provincial programme aimed to help subsistence farmers achieve a commercial lifestyle. Agarobe said this when donating 40 tonnes of fresh vegetables for the Government’s food ration initiative yesterday.

Results negative
SECOND samples for the three confirmed Covid-19 cases from NCD, Western and East New Britain have come back negative says State of Emergency Controller David Manning. Manning made the announcement on Friday and also added that the second samples were part of a batch of 1,150 samples from NCD, Western, Manus, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, East New Britain and Eastern Highlands that were sent to Australia for testing and all samples returned negative.

Police get masks
A LOCAL tailoring company donated 200 reusable face masks valued at K1,000 to the NCD/Central command in Port Moresby on Friday. Joie’s Tailoring Ltd director Janet Sios said the Covid-19 crisis was a time to help each other and it was committed to supporting frontliners in this crisis.
