Broken bridge needs mending

Letters

Asini River Bridge is located along the Nuku-Lumi section of the road in West Sepik.
The bridge was destroyed in 2012 during heavy flooding.
It is six years now and the Government and the political leaders of the area have turned a blind eye on this important service.
The road is an economic lifeline for Lumi and Nuku districts.
Sixty-three thousand people in West Sepik and 14,000 people of Dreikikir, Maprik and Wewak in East Sepik use the road.
This road serves more than 200,000 people and is a national highway serving Sepik inland people.
Two vehicles have been washed downstream and three lives have been lost.
Frequent road users transport cocoa, coffee, vanilla and rice produce on any day and night, and the bridge condition poses a threat to the travelling public.
Where is the National Government and the Nuku MP Joe Sungi?
Please come forward and build this bridge for the people to transport their produce to the market in Wewak.
