Browne proves his worth

NATIONAL footballer David Browne scored the most goals for Auckland City last year following impressive campaigns in the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League and New Zealand’s Handa Premiership.
The 24-year-old bagged 10 goals for the defending champions with nine of them scored in the first leg of the Champions League.
Browne scored a single goal for City in the 2019-2020 Handa Premiership and three in the 2018-19 season.
Despite the lack of goals in the New Zealand league, Browne continues to be an integral part of the City squad with the Papua New Guinea international showing his worth following his return to Auckland after three years in Dutch football with PEC Zwolle and FC Groningen.
Blessed with pace, skill, finishing ability and a dedicated work ethic, Browne’s return is a massive boost for City.
Part of the team that finished third at the Fifa Club World Cup in Morocco 2014, Browne has already lit up his return with a sprinkling of top quality performances.
Capable of playing wide, through the middle or as a striker, Browne is a player who excites audiences no matter where he plays.
A follower of West Ham United, Browne also enjoys the skills of Eden Hazard.
A man of faith, Browne also credits his parents for helping him chase his dreams in football.
Browne did not play for PNG at the Samoa Pacific Games in July after he ruled himself out due injury. However, he remains one of the most important players from his country.
