A PMV bus crew has pleaded not guilty to obstructing the flow of traffic after he allegedly refused to cooperate with a female traffic enforcement officer.
Waigani Traffic Court Magistrate Rebecca Kwayaila read the charge of Clement Michael, 21, of Toman village, Anglim-South Waghi, Jiwaka, before adjourning the case to Aug 7 for trial.
Magistrate Kwayaila extended Michael’s bail but increased it from a K300 police bail to a K1,000 court bail with the condition that he pay the remaining K700 before his next mention.
It was alleged that on July 8, at about 1.45pm, Michael, a crew of a route one bus, was seen travelling from downtown Port Moresby to 2-Mile, along the Hubert Murray Highway.
The PMV bus then got pulled over at 2-Mile by a female traffic officer for a routine inspection. When the female officer asked Michael for a crew permit, Michael allegedly told her to go check with the driver.
