THE Capital Rugby Union (CRU) last week announced the inclusion of MBB Marlins this year, making it the association’s ninth club ahead of the upcoming season.
CRU president Kori Chan said the Marlins were included after his board had received an expression of interest from the club.
He said the inclusion was part of CRU’s ongoing development.
“Club presidents met on Jan 7 and resolved to accept the expression of interest from the Marlins to join CRU for the upcoming season,” Chan said.
“We’re pleased to announce that the Marlins will be the ninth club to join CRU after meeting the criteria as a club.” Marlins patron Rawali Bokuik said the club wanted its players to be exposed to a wealth of knowledge and skills as part of their development.
“Our players asked the club to join CRU and we decided to submit our expression of interest,” he said.
“We are grateful for the opportunity and are looking forward to being part of the CRU competition.”
The admission of the Marlins will see them play in all five divisions —Under-19s, B-Grade, A-Grade, and the women’s and premier divisions.
