THE Lae Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is developing plans in line with the instructions from the state of emergency controller David Manning, says president John Byrne.
They are focusing on operations and movement in Lae and Morobe should PNG go to code red.
“There is a confirmed case in ENB,” Byrne said.
“(Questions are being asked) where this person travelled from and with whom.”
The Morobe emergency operation committee met on Tuesday to discuss plans for the next 60 days.
Byrne said “we were never going back to life and business during pre-Covid-19”.
“In the interim, the 14-day orders remain in full force until clear directions are received and nothing changes (from yesterday).”
He said shops closed at 5pm daily, buses and fuel stations close at 7pm and liquor sale was banned.
The restaurants may sell liquor while serving clients at their tables.
Vehicle passes and travelling rules still apply for the highway and inter-province purposes.
Businesses are requested to enforce hygiene habits, physical distancing, and washing hands regularly.
“At this time, ENB is on lockdown. We should not panic, cause fear or spread rumours. Be safe and practice good hygiene,” Byrne said.
