LAE MP John Rosso has urged people to look after vital government services and public properties.
Rosso made the call after new solar lights were installed at Lae’s Bumbu Road and Coronation Drive Road.
“These lights are of quality and will last long if we take good care of them,” he said on Facebook.
“The culture of destroying public properties today and demanding government to build new ones tomorrow needs to change completely.
“These lights are a reflection of your money (tax) and are your properties.
“You should take good care of them.”
Rosso said more lights would be installed around the city through funding from the Lae city authority.
“It will take time,” he said.
“But we will eventually get there.”
Rosso thanked Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu for “helping me to change the face of our city”.
