Charges laid against the corrupt welcomed

Letters, Normal

THE Lemus structure in New Ireland that was allegedly set up by the previous political leadership  caused K64 million of the people’s money to go “missing” and unaccounted.
It is an interesting case of corruption that can occur within our public service and political system due to lack of transparency.
Sixty-four million kina is a lot of money that the people of NIP and PNG have lost.
Every year, the rural people cry for lack of basic services like good road systems, better health and education facilities and such corrupt stories just make the people more frustrated.
It is good to learn that charges are being laid against those who committed the alleged crimes.
Such news are long overdue and is most welcomed.
It looks like NIP and NCDC are the only clean provincial governments so far in this term of parliament to our knowledge.
What about rest of our leaders in the other provinces, public service machinery and the national parliament?
Thank you, Sir Julius Chan and Powes Parkop.
