Children’s behaviour

Letters

A child is any human being below the age of 18 years.
Psychologists believe that children learn their behaviour from what they see – by watching and imitating ¬– and the information they acquire from people and the things around them.
This means that children behave according to what they see and hear. Children’s behaviour is a major problem in Papua New Guinea today.
In many cases, parents have lost control of their children and we see many of those children socialising with the young and old alike with no boundaries.
Today, young people are out of control. They talk and do things without thinking and their behaviour affects the behaviour of other children they socialise with.
Children aged between seven and 12 learn and imitate the behaviour of people older than them, including adults.
As a result many children are taking drugs and alcohol, and swearing and showing disrespect to others.
These are negative sides of life which are dominant in their lives.
My personal view is that parents are the main cause of this problem.
It is the responsibility of parents to provide good groundings for their children for their purpose to be fully identified and known so that they can accomplish their goal. If you are a parent you should always know that the children you have now are the symbols of love in your marriage and they represent you in the next generation to come because they carry your genes.
Do your best for your children so that you don’t end up with regrets in your life.
