Chimbu health authority appoints CEO

THE newly-appointed chief executive officer of the Chimbu health authority took office this week in Kundiawa, Chimbu.
Authority chairman Robert Nilkare yesterday confirmed the appointment of Dr Francis Wandi following an engagement of Vanguard International to recruit a suitable officer.
He said there were two rounds of advertisements for the chief executive officer’s position.
First round was in both dailies on March 20, 23 and 27 with a closing date of April 3.
He said, 13 applications had been received, however, due to the Covid-19 and on the assumption that potential applicants may have missed the opportunity to apply due to their frontline involvement, the closing date for applications had been extended to May 1 and a second round of advertisements was done in dailies on April 17.
“The board voted (by secret ballot) to confirm the appointment of Dr Wandi as the CEO.”
Nilkare said on Monday a handover takeover ceremony was conducted in Kundiawa.
