PORT Moresby City stocks will take a hit when it loses three key players in the coming weeks.
Coach Frederica Sakette said striker Haiyap Israel is set to join Genesis during the transfer window while Jacobeth Bani and Getta Kambar return to school next month. Bani is at the University of Technology while Kambar is at Madang Technical College.
Sakette said the club was now looking to fill the vacancies as the competition nears its finals.
“We have two students that are going back to school and that will be a setback but we hope to get replacements,” she said.
City have been in good form of late with big wins over Amoana (5-1) last week and Port Moresby Academy (7-0) on Saturday but Sakette said there were still areas in their game that needed improvement.
“We have a problem with our finishing but the girls are improving with commitment to the training.”
Sakette acknowledged forward Gloria Laeli for her versatility and ability to score goals. “She (Laeli) is a utility, she can play in the backline or the forwards which makes her a useful asset.”
The 25-year-old is one of the three national players, the others being Roxanne Komeng and Dorcas Sesevo, in the City line-up.
