THE Exodus Basketball Club has appealed to the Papua New Guinea Men’s Basketball League to settle all outstanding payments before the start of 2014 season.

Exodus club president James Banduru in an email yesterday called for outstanding payments owed to them for winning the premiership, travel cost subsidies – and gate-taking shares for them and other clubs to be settled before season 2014 tips off.

From records, Exodus is owed K25,000 for winning the premiership, K10,000 for travel costs and including gate takings, which amount to more than K35,000.

Other clubs which PMBL owes money include Tamaraws, Moresby West Jokers, Chariots and Saints.

“Our plans have been destroyed by PMBL with the non-payment of the prize money, travel cost and gate takings,” Banduru lamented.

Exodus had planned to participate in the Far North Queensland championships in November last year but cancelled the trip due to lack of funds anticipated from their winnings and related earnings.

Banduru said if PMBL had paid Exodus monies due, they would have participated.

PMBL Commissioner Larry Miro Jr when contacted for comments evaded the questions but replied: “the report updates on the 2014 season and press release will be notified as soon as matters for 2013 and registration for season 2014 is sent to all clubs”.
