Coates’ try voted ‘best’

FANS have spoken and rookie Maroons winger Xavier Coates has been chosen to have scored the best try of this year’s Ampol State of Origin series.
Such was Papua New Guinea international’s impact over the two matches he played, he also finished third with another effort that made the shortlist for the try of the series.
It was his leaping effort on an otherwise forgettable night for Queensland at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium in game two that won over voters.
While tries from Coates finished first and third, AJ Brimson’s game-one try at Adelaide Oval was voted the second best.
Blues five-eighth Cody Walker and Maroons utility Valentine Holmes were the other nominees. – NRL
