Come clean with fees

Letters

THE Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) has done well in establishing it branches throughout the country, in the effort of bringing its services to the rural population.
The IRC services are vital at a time when the Government is focused on supporting SMEs and getting people in the villages to engage in small businesses to sustain their lives as we continue on to face and deal with the challenges of this pressing time in the world.
But it seems that even with the IRC presence in the provinces, it becomes even harder to access services such as a TIN certificate.
Staff in these offices give all kinds of excuses to clients.
It is known, that getting a TIN certificate is free, but branch officers have been charging fees.
If that is the case, the commission should put a separate fees such as K100 for TIN certificates, which can go towards to IRC offices serving in the branches.
We understand that with the Covid-19, life has gotten even tougher but as a courtesy, it should be made public what fees IRC officers will be charging.
