Companies give K50,000 towards Aust fire appeal

TWO companies – Trans Wonderland Ltd and PNG Air – have donated K50,000 each to the PNG hearts for Australia fire appeal.
Committee chairman Paul Nerau said donations continued to come in from people from all walks of life.
“Some women in Buin (Bougainville) gave K802 from their market takings which was presented during the Prime Minister’s cocktail fundraising last Friday.”
Nerau said it was not how much one gave, but the reason it was given.
The PM’s fundraising cocktail in Port Moresby last Saturday raised over K2 million in pledges and donations.
Nerau thanked all donors.
A music concert will be held on March 1, as part of the fundraising.
