THE Tourism Promotion Authority has once again come to the assistance of the University of Papua New Guinea with K20,000 to host its 12th Tourism Convention.
Chief executive officer Jerry Agus says the funding further strengthens its partnership with the business school at UPNG.
“It is important that we as the Government representative in the Industry support our students in organising this event,” he said.
Agus said he was pleased to see that the conferences continued to be successful since PNGTPA had become a part of it over the years.
The convention is being organised and part of student assessment for third-year tourism and hospitality management students in the school of business and public policy.
The event started in 2007.
It is a two-fold event which consists of the exhibition and conference. The main objective of this event is to meet and satisfy the course requirements of convention and events management.
