A POLICEMAN charged with murdering his own son had his case adjourned by the Lae Committal Court last Friday.
Arnold Anonga Kisa, 48, from Kaintiba’s Yakindangoai village, Gulf, appeared before senior Magistrate Pious Tapil who adjourned the case to Aug 26 for a final mention.
The court extended his K1,000 bail and ordered a final mention as Kisatwas yet to get assistance from the state solicitor for the submission of files.
“We will adjourn the case for final mention on Aug 26,” he said.
“If files are not ready, it will proceed with the ruling based on the evidence provided.”
Police report stated that last Dec 31 between 7pm and 8pm, Kisa was alleged to have shot his son during an argument at their home in Menyamya station.
The court heard the son argued with his father, then threw some debris on their iron roof.
The father allegedly came out of his house and punched his son twice, went back in and got his rifle.
He allegedly fired five shots and chased his son away.
A little while later the son was found wounded in a pool of blood.
He was taken to Menyamya health centre but succumbed to his injuries.
The father was allegedly drunk during the altercation.
