Corporate 9s league starts

Sports Eventz Corporate League Nines’ top contenders Central Provincial Government and Funeral Home Laumas started round one in their respective matches at the NFS Oval One last Saturday.
Reigning champions Central Provincial Government (CPG) thumped Avennel Engineering System (AES) 30-4 in Pool A.
CPG coach Collin Geno Lama said his team just made it through on the 11th hour to participate in the event to defend the crown.
FH Laumas (1) walked over PIH 20-4 and FH Laumas (2) were just too classy for Eda Ranu belting them 34-4.
In other pool A matches PNG Power beat Finance Department 14-8, Bank of PNG drew with PriceWaterhouseCoopers 10-10 and PNG Ports beat National Capital District Commission (1) 22-10.
In Pool B NCDC (2) beat Paradise Foods 6-4, Spidertek defeated Puma Energy 4-0, Bishop Brothers down Brian Bell 16-12 and Goodman Fielder beat CPG (2) 6-0.
