Create new district

The National Letters

A NEW electorate in Eastern Highlands should be created and called Eastern End.
It will be a split of Siane local level government (LLG) in Chuave, Chimbu and Unggai LLG from Unggai-Bena district in Eastern Highlands.
Upper Siane/Lower Siane LLG to Unggai have rugged mountains and valleys and is the largest district in the provinces in terms of land mass, population and cultural variations.
I urge the council presidents of Unggai and Siane and the deputy governors to take note.
The split has more positive benefits, including disturbing the country’s wealth among marginalised populations and improving service delivery.
The Eastern end of the district such are Yabiyufa, Orumbaiyufa, Omena Lubuiyufa, Lavaiyufa, Wandoyufa, Upper/Lower Siane LLG and many others have not seen any tangible services.
Our good Governors and MPs, please split the district into our electorate.

  • The Eastern Highlands Province is bigger than other provinces in the country,it shares boarder with four provinces like,Gulf, Simbu, Morobe and Madang. It supposed to have 10 or 11 districts in the province due to its landmass area plus the population density. Please this inform to urg the incharge authorities responsible for boundaries breaking to consider this very concern raise.
