THE late Rodha Dick was finally laid to rest at Gadaisu village in West Suau, Milne Bay, last Sunday after a post-mortem and removal of a bullet from her body.
Son Napoleon Saevaru was pleased with all those who contributed towards providing information about her death while his mother was in the morgue with the bullet in her for more than nine months.
Saevaru said the family were waiting for the police team to carry out investigations on the shooting, allegedly by police.
Chief of Forensic Science Det Supt Philip Rambaliku confirmed that a bullet was removed and ballistic tests were done.
He said his officers were analysing the bullet and rifles confiscated from notorious criminal Tommy Baker and his gang during the raid in Alotau during which Dick was shot.
Police are trying to determine whether Dick was shot by a gang member or police.
Police Minister Bryan Kramer said there would still be an investigation into the shooting of the woman.
He said funding would be a problem but he would discuss the issue with Alotau MP and Minister for Finance and Rural Development Charles Abel.
