THE National Capital District (NCD) has set up its Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) to promote good governance and accountability, its outgoing acting chief executive officer of the health authority Ken Wai says.
“Provincial health authorities are public entities so they must be under the Government’s computerised system for registration, examination, approval, cheque issuance and monitoring purposes,” he said. “We have moved away from manual accounting and cheque system into the computerised IFMS system. “We printed our first cheque under the IFMS system last week. “We are thankful to the Finance and Health departments for this milestone achievement.” Wai, who was appointed as the acting CEO last year, completed his six-month term on Tuesday and would return to the Health Department. He said Dr Maru Garo would be acting until the board appoints a new CEO. “It has been 16 months and the NCD health authority remains without a permanent CEO,” Wai said.
