Do not pass the buck on corrupt deals

The National, Friday October 2nd, 2015

I REFER to The National’s yesterday (Sep 23) in which acting Lands Secretary Luther Sipison hit the nail on the head when he said corruption was rife his department.

Sipison was quoted as saying, “We in the (Lands) department do not allocate land to individuals or companies. The mandated authority is the Papua New Guinea Land Board.”

The Lands Department is the front-end where all the corrupt deals are initiated, facilitated and the Lands Board is the backend, basically a rubber stamp.

The lands officers have all the records and manipulate the systems and processes facilitating everything evil and the Lands Board either say yes or no from fabricated paper work and presentations from scrupulous people.

Majority of the corrupt deals are initiated at the Lands Department and if Sipison is serious about fighting corruption at the Lands Department, don’t pass the buck to the Lands Board.

Like Michael Kandiu, I am a victim of corrupted land forfeiture at 9 Mile (Bomana), National Capital District, and request Kandiu to contact me on 70112050 so we can contact others in the same boat and take this issue up to the Secretary for Lands Department and Minister for Lands as well as the Land Board.
