A DOG led a group of men yesterday to a beachfront in Lae where they found the body of a man floating between two vessels anchored near the shore.
Lae metropolitan police commander Chief Superintendent Chris Kunyanban said the man who was not from Lae was one of the five who had held up a female fuel vendor at Voco Point last Friday, robbing her of K11,000.
Four had already been arrested.
Eye-witness Amos Namron said the dog was barking loudly trying to draw attention to the body floating between the vessels Gejamsao and Morobe Rainforest.
He said when the dog swam towards the ships, a group of men followed it on a boat and found the body.
“We were angry when the dog was barking loudly while we were talking.
“But when it swam towards the ships, we decided to follow it,” Namron said.
“To our surprise, we saw the body floating between the two ships.
“We then pulled it the shore, with the dog swimming behind the body.”
