GABUTU Dragons bagged their maiden Under-20 premiership after they beat Kaugere Bulldogs 12-8 in the Moresby South Rugby League grand final at Moresby South Stadium on Sunday.
They claimed K10,800 in total after adding the premiership to their minor crown in a successful campaign.
Prop Jordan Wesis was named as the most valuable player.
“But second-rower Saki Peter was also a standout this season,” club president Moses Kumbi said.
Wesis said the whole team had performed well all season, so they were all worthy of the award.
Captain Keith Thomas said: “We worked hard for it.
“We were disciplined and remained focused on the game.
“We avoided conceding unnecessary penalties and silly errors.
“The win has given us more confidence.
“We’re looking forward to our title defence in the new season.”
