THE 9-Mile Giants were given a morale boost by Emperador with a new set of uniforms and other apparel.
Apart from the uniforms and merchandise, the firm also affiliated and registered the teams to various tournaments like NCD Governors Cup champions and NCD leg challenge of Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup on Feb 8-13 in Port Moresby.
The sponsorship is worth more than K10,000.
Emperador chief executive officer Eddie Salazar said the support was their community obligation to promote and develop human resources at the grassroots level.
“We are now partners with the Giants and our partnership and relationship will continues as long as the company operates in PNG,” Salazar said.
“As an international company we also have our community obligation and support sports like basketball in the PMBL and FILBA and soon in soccer in the Port Moresby competition.
“We are doing it for the potential youths to develop themselves in sports and achieve their dreams.
“This country has a lot of gifted talents and what they need is support in cash or kind to see them progress in their careers,” Salazar said.
“We are aware that this club is from the grassroots community and needed the support based at 5-Mile and 9-Mile settlements in Moresby North East.
The Giants were lost for words at the gesture and promised to play well for their fans and supporters.
