Ensure census is successful

THE upcoming national population census is already heading towards failure.
The preparation exercise in Lae is not implemented as expected.
There is no active awareness.
The recruitment exercise doesn’t have Waigani’s support.
The Lae census officers are confronted almost every time about issues. Police are called in when there’s a confrontation.
But how long will that continue?
I call on the National Statistical Office to not fail again. You have failed in 2011 and it seems the same will be repeated.
The Government should check this office to make sure the census exercise is on schedule.
Stop giving excuses about Covid-19.
