AN extra-marital affair has left one dead and scores homeless with several vehicles and other properties destroyed as well in Jiwaka.
The incident took place last Wednesday at Kuming village, Kindeng, in the Anglimp-South Waghi electorate.
Banz police station commander Insp James Rumi confirmed the incident.
Insp Rumi, who was the acting Jiwaka police commander at the time, said it was something among three people but many innocent people were affected.
He said the incident took place at around 11pm last Wednesday, and was started over a missed call.
He said the woman had a missed call that night and the husband became suspicious and ordered her to call the number.
“With the husband standing next to her, she had no choice but to call the person, had a conversation and planned to meet at a location that night,” Insp Rumi said.
He said the woman was a mother of three and her husband, a father of four.
Insp Rumi said the third person in the relationship had walked for 3km to meet the woman.
He said she pretended to have had an argument with her husband.
“The woman was accompanied by her husband and one of his relatives to meet (the third person),” Insp Rumi said.
“When (the third person) was close, the husband and his relative came out of their hiding and killed him on the spot with a knife.”
He said the man died from injuries received on the head and abdomen.
Insp Rumi said the next day the deceased’s tribesmen retaliated and burnt down houses, properties and vehicles.
He said police arrived at the scene later and could not do much to help the situation.
Insp Rumi said police arrested the alleged killers and the woman and they were in custody.

  • The woman (wife) should not be spared. She is the root of the problem. Many times, the focus is on the man and not the woman. What can we do to the women who are at fault?

  • I hope the women’s advocates see this. To you all women, what do you have in response to this?

  • Sin is the Cause and the Root Problems of all the evil that is happening around us.
The effects of sin is obvious. There are no moral standards and absolutes in our Society.
Every Individual’s attitudes (behavior) are shaped by his/her beliefs.
Truth is no longer an absolute in our Society.
Tolerance is only the rational response. Every Individual are entitled to act upon their own opinion or belief system.

    The bottom line is;
You take God out of the picture; you will always be vulnerable to sin all the evilness (associated with it) that is out there.
Eventually, it will destroy you, destroy your home, destroy your family and destroy those who are closet to you.
Sin leaves all the scars, hurts and heartaches.
Better to follow what God says in His Word than to be sorry.

  • Let that be a lesson for lustful men out there. Do NOT let your lust control you but you control your lust. A woman will draw you to your early death!

  • Women can do anything they like because they think they are protected by the law on violence against women. This law can only work in a whitman’s land and not in PNG.

  • This is why the violence arises.
Women are the reason why husbands kill them. They must act, dress and walk appropriately and in a way that suits their purpose.
