A FAMILY was left homeless and traumatised after a fire razed their home at Ensisi, Port Moresby on Friday.
Levi Anglua, wife Dalcy, their two sons and daughter lived in the house.
“My family and I are left with (only our shoes) as we watched the fire consume our home on Friday evening,” Levi Angula said.
“This has disrupted our lives and we are still in shock. We lost everything but (fortunately) no one got hurt.”
The Angula family had been living there since they bought the property in 2001.
On Friday afternoon, Levi and his wife were away when they received a call that their house was on fire.
They rushed home to find firefighters battling the flames and the street packed with people and police.
He said the neighbours raised the alarm when they noticed smoke between 7pm and 8pm.
Firefighters managed to stop it from spreading to other houses.
“I commend the firefighters and the policemen who were there. I also thank the people who have assisted us in cash and kind in the last few days,” he said.
