THE country’s biggest hospital is being manned by “stressed and flat-out” workers, resulting in the deaths of some doctors, says National Doctors Association secretary Dr Sam Yockopua.
“The stress level among the (Port Moresby General Hospital) workers has gone significantly high in recent times, resulting in early deaths of many doctors,” he said.
“Many are stressed out and may (follow) in that manner if we continue to add stress to the fragile working population in the health systems.
“The Port Moresby General Hospital is the national referral and teaching facility.
“It is a designated tertiary hospital for definitive investigations, treatments and surgery.”
