TOP Moresby South Rugby League women’s teams were held to draws in their respective matches at Moresby South Stadium in the nation’s capital over the weekend.
Korobosea Souths held competition leaders Sub City Raiders to a 10-10 draw.
Raiders scored their tries through centre Sabeth Ako and Flora Yanu with Engi Hoki converting one goal.
Souths’ points were scored by Julie Mikes and Ruth Gende.
Two-Mile United and Kone Eagles drew 4-4 while Gabutu Dragons and Joyce Bay Roosters won on forfeit against Southern Sisters and Kaugere Seagulls.
The top-eight spots are still on offer with three more matches. This weekend’s matches have been deferred due to national schools trials.
After round 12, the points ladder sees Raiders (19 points) in pole spot, followed by Eagles, United, Dragons, Vadavada United (16 apiece), 6-Mile Crows (8), Souths (7), Sisters (5), Seagulls (4) and Taurama Wolfpack (3).
League chairman Brown Murema said: “We don’t want to disrupt the women’s competition because they have completed their rounds.”
He said the league’s female train-on squad were preparing for the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League Southern Confederation championships.
