ALL New Britain Palm Oil Limited Soccer Association executives, including president Tony Omal, have retained their positions unopposed for the next four years.
The association held its elective general meeting at Mosa Community Centre on Saturday.
Seven league presidents agreed to retain vice-president Lawrence Gima, secretary Alfred Malisa, teasurer Adda Edo, Dominique Peu and referee coordinator Chris Henry.
The Mosa, Kumbango, Kapuira, Healla, Talasea, Kulu Dagi, Valudai and Dami representatives returned all the executives which showed confidence in how the association was being run.
“It’s a show of confidence when no-one puts his or her hand up to contest the positions,” Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) member associations boss Stanley Khanna said.
He said Omal and his executives were voted back unopposed to continue their good work in leading the association for another term of four years.
Under Omal’s leadership, a lot of success has been achieved since he became the president in 2016.
Khanna said good governance and transparency were what the sport’s national governing body continued to encourage among its member associations.
“What’s important now is the progress,” he said.
“We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel especially in terms of member associations complying with the processes.”
Meanwhile, Omal said he wanted to continue supporting football development among youths.
He hailed Khanna’s presence as the first time for a PNGFA executive to attend such a meeting by the association.
Omal said his main dream is to see players from his association represent the country.
“That is my dream and I will continue (to work towards it for) as long as I am the president of the association,” he said.
