Gerehu Primary U18 women set for schools league grand final

GEREHU Primary School Under-18 women booked a grand final spot in the National Capital District Schools Rugby League competition after they beat Eki Vaki Primary School 10-4 in the in the Moresby North-West preliminary finals on Tuesday.
In the Moresby South preliminary final, Ted Diro Primary School shut out Holy Rosary 16-0.
Gerehu Primary will now face Ted Diro in the Girls Under-18 grand final at the Oil Search National Football Stadium tomorrow.
In the Under-14 boys division, Gerehu Primary edged Eki Vaki Primary 2-0 to book spot in the grand final.
Gerehu will face Saint Therese who beat Erima Primary in the other preliminary final of Moresby North-West.
The preliminary finals of other divisions were also completed yesterday.
League president Arnold Gende told The National that all grand finals would be played tomorrow.
“It’s Christmas and we don’t want to prolong the season any further,” he said.
“I am happy that all the preliminary finals have been completed and we are waiting for the grand finals on Friday.
“There have not been any serious problems throughout the season except for the long delay due to the Coronavirus pandemic.”
