Government doing its best: PM

National
James Marape

THE Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is a serious issue that the Government is trying its absolute best to address because of the devastation it can cause, Prime Minister James Marape says.
He said Covid-19 was not something to play with as so far, more than 200 million people around the world had contracted it, with more than 30 million deaths.
In Papua New Guinea, more than 20,000 people had Covid-19 and more than 200 died from it.
Marape was responding to Opposition Leader Belden Namah’s queries regarding the Covid-19 vaccination in Parliament yesterday.
He said the Government tried its best to ensure that Covid-19 was addressed throughout the country with K2 million given to all the districts to have basic response set up in each district.
Marape said provincial governments were also given K2 million each for the response.
