NORTHERN Governor Gary Juffa, looking to groom future leaders, has called on the public to come and listen to parliament session this year.

Juffa wants to encourage a greater awareness of political decision making and has extended an invitation to all vocational, primary and secondary schools and universities to bring their students into parliament to see political action as it unfolds.

He is calling on, clan chiefs and women leaders to witness parliamentary discussions.

“I want leaders at all levels of society, for all ages regardless of gender,” Juffa said.

Parliament will resume the 12th of next month and the public gallery is open to all.

Juffa revealed that his home electorate, Northern, will be starting a future leaders’ programme this year and it was planning to build a leadership school to groom emerging leaders.

In addition, Juffa is planning to encourage e-based forums and learning programmes for all Northern citizens to engage in developing the province.

He said he had started discussing with organisations to help him develop and implement the programmes.

“Good citizens and good leaders are groomed and educated accordingly; they do not just emerge from nowhere.”
