Graduates urged to seek God

Education

THE 139 advanced diploma and bachelor degree graduates of the Don Bosco Technological Institute have been told to seek the Kingdom of God first.
Kerema diocese Bishop Pedro Baquero warned them to make good decisions and choices in life because situations constantly change – but God never changes and that they should always seek him.
“I encourage you to be the light and salt in your workplace and in the world,” Baquero said.
“From a Catholic institution, you have learned your trade and had grown your Christian faith.
“So when you leave this place, continue to pursue Jesus.
“Never stop seeking the Kingdom of God.”
Institute president Father Alexander Garces reminded the students to always remember the Bosconian identity.
“When you say: Once a Bosconian, always a Bosconian, remember that you must be Bosconians who are competent in your fields,” he said.
“Be dedicated teachers, devoted Christians, responsible parents, good stewards of the environment and be men and women of integrity.”
Garces thanked the parents, guardians, sponsors and relatives who helped the students in their journey to success.
According to Catholic Bishop Conference of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, the graduation was supposed to be held last year. But, because of the Coronavirus, it was held last week.
