Teachers training vital

EARLY childhood learning teachers in East New Britain need more training to help them in their work, Catholic archdiocese education coordinator Leoba Mape Olpitarea says.
Olpitarea said there were many early childhood learning schools in the province which needed well-trained teachers.
“They need to be well trained (as) early childhood is very important for (children’s) development academically, spiritually and socially,” she said. Olpitarea said they did need trainers to guide the teachers.
“We need to practice humility in our school, work together with our leaders and put differences aside,” she said.
“I believe positive attitude and the positive values, we would not face any of the problems in our schools.”
Rabaul has around 100 primary schools, two Catholic secondary schools, six vocational schools and more than 200 elementary schools.
